Empathy Meets Efficiency: Cy Jaranilla Shares Her Insights as a Front Desk Specialist
Francis Cyril Jaranilla, affectionately known as Cy, is a Front Desk Specialist for a free-standing healthcare facility in New Jersey where she serves as a beacon of warmth and professionalism at the front lines of the healthcare industry.
In this article, we unveil the fascinating and inspiring journey of Cy, where empathy meets efficiency just when it matters the most.
Embracing the Role: Where Empathy Meets Efficiency
When asked about her role as a Front Desk Specialist, Cy expressed her love for helping provide patients with their healthcare needs. “What I love about being a Front Desk Specialist is that I was able to help patients with their radiology needs, and I was able to provide them the quality of service each patient needs,” she shared with enthusiasm.
Cy’s journey is one of a harmonious blend of empathy and efficiency. Understanding the value Americans place on their time, she ensures that scheduling appointments align with their preferences. This is especially so given how many of the Americans she deals with every day work multiple jobs. “Americans really value their time. For them, time is gold. Time is valuable,” she emphasized, showcasing her keen understanding of her client’s market.
Balancing Values: Inside and Outside the Role
Here, Cy took the time to differentiate her persona at work and off work. “I would say that as a Front Desk Specialist, I would consider myself as a person who is very understanding and compassionate,” she reflected. But while bound by professionalism during office hours, she lets out the more energetic part of her personality beyond the office. “Outside from this work, I am the enthusiastic side of a person—I am very jovial, very happy, very outgoing, and very outspoken,” she shared laughingly, said personality peeking out through the surface.
Navigating Success: Cultural Sensitivity is the Key to Triumph
One of the crucial aspects of her success lies in cultural sensitivity. As a Filipino working for a foreign company, Cy highlighted the importance of understanding and respecting American culture. “Cultural [sensitivity] is very important to young Filipinos like me working with American clients. To understand the American culture is very important for us Filipinos, for us to be able to understand how we deal with them, how we talk to them, how to weigh things between our culture and the culture of Americans. And with this, if you know the culture of those clients you’re working for, then you will be successful in the job that [you have] right now.”
Fashion and Passion: The Winning Blend
Cy’s story doesn’t just end at being a healthcare professional; it extends to her passion for fashion. Winning the “Tahche Influencer Award” in theTahche’s Fashion Face Off last July, Cy revealed, “I do not dress to impress, but I dress to inspire,” And true enough, her passion for fashion and natural talent result in a regular sight for sore eyes in the office. We can attest to that!

Amidst the duties and responsibilities, there are moments of camaraderie and celebration. Cy fondly recalled a memorable office experience during Tahche’s 11th-year anniversary that truly touched her heart. “Working with Tahche support team during our 11th year anniversary. It was such a great opportunity to work with these talented individuals. They were able to see potential in me in hosting. And I was able to show off [my] talent in front of our Tahche employees and our clients,” As she reminisced, she successfully gave us a glimpse of the close-knit office community at Tahche.

It’s very diverse, very accepting,” she concluded.
Her message was clear: embrace individuality and persevere.
