How Offshoring in the Philippines Grows Your Business While You Sleep

“If you don’t make money while you sleep, you will work until you die”- Jimmy Buffet

When I first learned about offshoring, I didn’t really know what it was or how it operated. I wrongly assumed, as many others probably do, that offshoring simply meant hiring in a foreign country for business growth while continuing one’s normal, day-to-day life. I also thought that working with offshore teams would feel disconnected due to differences in time zones and geography. But my internship at Tahche quickly changed that perception. From my first day working with our remote teams, I saw how seamlessly everyone collaborated, proving we’re truly not limited by distance or different time  zones.

Then, when I touched down in the Philippines, I came to understand that offshoring doesn’t just help with minimizing costs, relieving stress, creating jobs, and promoting business growth, but actually allows you to get two times the business output than a regular company.

When I say you get double the work output compared to your competitors, it’s because your dedicated offshore team would be tackling tasks during their regular hours, which, due to time zone differences, can mean they’re working through your night. By the time you wake up refreshed from your beauty sleep, your offshore team has already completed a full day’s worth of work, giving your business a powerful productivity advantage. When your local team logs in for work, everyone can continue right where their offshore counterparts left off, maximizing the value of time.

Making Offshoring Work Starts with Real Collaboration

As an intern currently working at Tahche, I’ve seen firsthand how offshoring goes far beyond just handing off tasks. Just recently, I sat in on a monthly management meeting between our U.S. team and our Cebu City team, and in just 45 minutes, I learned something critical: collaboration isn’t optional, it’s the foundation. When both sides of the world are aligned toward a shared goal, business growth becomes not just possible, but inevitable. Everyone has to be bought in, motivated, and moving in sync. That’s what makes offshoring work even when you’re asleep.

Zoom vs. In-Person: How Do They Stack Up?

Working on Zoom and in-person definitely have their advantages and disadvantages, yet when it comes to Tahche and their offshoring services, both mediums of communication work extremely well.

When I first started I didn’t know how the company survives with their CEO back in America. But when I witnessed how Bryan works with the team back in the Philippines, I saw a system that works seamlessly.

If you’re in the U.S. working with a Philippine team on a night shift setup, you’ll be able to go on Zoom and work with them during daytime U.S. hours, accomplishing tasks together as a team. As for me, the Marketing team I’m currently with works mid-shift, which meant that when I was in the U.S., I could spend the first half of my work day collaborating on Zoom with them to edit documents, prepare slide shows, and find new leads. Then once they finished their shift, my afternoon began and I continued on to do other tasks they’ve assigned to help boost our profits. It’s all very flexible.

All that to say that the work can be done. But traveling and meeting your offshore team? It’s still a one-of-a-kind experience.

While working remotely can be fun because I can lay in bed and not brush my teeth, experiencing the office is way better. Growing up my parents didn’t work in a traditional office, so I only saw kitchens and home offices. So stepping into my first REAL office was a major stepping stone for me.

I thought I understood the BPO industry, but being in Tahche HQ, I realized I clearly didn’t have a full grasp of it. When one of our clients came to visit for the first time, both the client CEO and I were blown away by how efficient we are. Similarly, we both worked with our respective teams on Zoom, but when we finally got to see the office for the first time we were pleasantly shocked. Tahche offered our clients the ability to use our space for whatever they needed, a fully functional workforce at their disposal, and around-the-clock expertise at hand.

Double the Work For One Price

Doubling the work doesn’t just mean putting in 16 hour days and hitting overtime. It can also mean having two work forces, using the two-time-zone advantage to maximize your business’s full capabilities. And with Tahche, you can customize the services you want to avail, or take the whole bundle. On top of that, Tahche allows you to choose your offshore team setup. You can have them work regular U.S. hours, boosting your company’s productivity, or you can have them work your off hours to achieve 24-hour efficiency and coverage. When you carefully select which services you need from Tahche, you get the best product on the market.

So what now?

My time as an intern here in the Philippines with the fantastic team at Tahche has continually reinforced in me the immense value of offshoring. Whether you’re an American entrepreneur or someone else eager to expand globally, embracing a foreign environment can accelerate your business growth significantly—often doubling your effectiveness compared to traditional local approaches. And just some key takeaways: sitting in on a collaborative meeting between our Cebu City office and the United States team clearly showed me that successful offshoring hinges upon effective teamwork, clear communication, and a shared commitment to achieving unified business objectives.

As I continue my journey, I’m excited to keep discovering and sharing insights that prove how offshoring truly propels businesses forward.
